Kash Posted May 1, 2005 Posted May 1, 2005 So you're saying that you're making copies of movie DVDs you already own? If that's the case, then what program are you using? Everything can play on your PC, so don't compare it to a set-top DVD player. The PC is just a more versatile machine, whereas simple DVD players are just that, simple. Supertech Posted May 1, 2005 Posted May 1, 2005 It was said earlier...... use +R media...Ive had that problem myself..... Your other possibility may be copyright protection. I have 2 Home DVD players, one is expensive and wont play ANYTHING. (too much copyright protection built in) The other one cost me 39 dollars and will play anything I throw in it. Including XCopy stuff.

Vampire Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 This happened to me too, turned out I was using a crappy/wrong program to do it. Try using a program called DVD Shrink, it decrypts/whatever, then burns the DVD for you after you mess with the quality of the main movie/menu and choose what to include. Burning via this program allows me to play these DVDs on the standard DVD player as opposed to some DVD copying program which worked on my PC, but NOT my DVD player.
