fluffles Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 Ok im thinking of gettin a 19" tft soon, and i was wonderin wether its worth getting a DVI monitor or not, cos the price difference is huge thanx in advance
ravix Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 for a 19", I'd definatetely suggest DVI. I've seen both side by side and on 19's it is definately noticable.
Silverfox Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 DVI is pure digital from a digital signal. Using SVGA for a TFT is ok, but, not perfect. DVI gives a slightly better quality image that needs no correction or calibration (apart from contrast to suit).

Eva_Unit_0 Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 DVI is a pure digital signal, while VGA is an analog signal. For CRT's it doesn't matter at all since they're analog devices anyway. But for lcd's, you should try to get a DVI capable one because there will be a noticable difference in picture quality.
