kendellrt Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 I just barely switched my RAID 1 array to RAID 0 last night. I have everything reinstalled, now I'll just have to see if there is any improvements.
lethal93ta Posted January 22, 2005 Posted January 22, 2005 I have 2 36 GB raptors running raid0 for like 2 months so far, no problems with it, I have a 200 GB for storing anything I want to save and i also back up to disk and my other computers hard drive thats in my network here at home, I dont think due to having 2 hard drives that its going to crash any faster, if you just running them normal and one goes you loose everything anyway, and its a lot faster running raid0 raid 1 is good if you really need to back things up, but I wanted the speed on here. Byron Posted January 22, 2005 Posted January 22, 2005 Yea, I dont see why you guys are bashing raid-0. I've got 2x 36.7gb raptors in raid-0, and I run my system 24/7 for over 3 months at a time. The raptors have been true troopers. On my array, I do only install games/applications, and keep my installers, music, etc on a few seperate hds for backup. I really dont see the point to raid-1 unless you have no hd to make backups onto. As for raid-0+1. I can see that it would be useful, but I cant see myself scrambing to set it up anytime soon.
