Geocaris Posted November 15, 2002 Posted November 15, 2002 I am running XP Pro on an Asus A7V333 using the onboard sound. When I plug in the dial up modem I get no sound out of the system at all. Take the modem out and everything is fine. In the Device Manager I can find no conflicts and it says everything is working. Any Ideas? robbie Posted November 16, 2002 Posted November 16, 2002 Try plugging the modem in a different slot on the MOBO, then go into the bios and reset the IRQ table. Rob
Geocaris Posted November 16, 2002 Posted November 16, 2002 When I install the modem XP configures some "Half Duplex Sound" something also. I did swith slots to no avail. I will try updating drivers and walking through each slot.

Geocaris Posted November 20, 2002 Posted November 20, 2002 Sound was on IRQ 16 Modem was on IRQ 17 I solved the problem however... I bought a new modem and it all works fine. I guess the other one was just too old and wasn't compatible. Thanks for all the input though.
