okay, so here is the problem.

i have 10 feet of wire and i need to make one or two areas. it can be a circle, a square, or both. i need to figure out an equation that will tell me how to maximize the area as well as minimize the area. any help would be appreciated.

well - devide 10 into 4 - to make a square - measure each side and take a single measurement and then multiply it by itself (square the measuremnt)

that will give you the easiest MOST area -

you can also take that 10 ft piece of wire/whatever and make a circle - measure the diameter - devide that by 2 and do the equasion for finding the area of a circle

if ya hold the the wire straight then there is no area - minimized ;)

^_^ there ya go problem solved :D

if i recall corectly a circle is the most efficient use of area, and of course a line is the owrse, otherwise its a rectant 5 long and 0 wide, hehe, I think the greater teh numebr of sides the greater teh area assuming perimeter is the same, and sence a circle has infinate sides...
