pci-e is pointless for that budget. Anyways I'd get the msi 9800 pro bc it has the 9800xt core. Same price also, its 256bit. Besides that, system looks pretty good. I'd say the 1gb might be overkill just for gaming, but that is too good of an offer to refuse.

Yes, but his system wont benefit from a pci-e card. Within his budget, a pci-e card would not outperfom the same card running agp. So whats the point? He would have to change his whole setup to basically get an intel system instead of a64. IMO, not worth the extra money for pci-e

2500+ mobile - 90$

DFI infinity - 90$

1gb of corsair value select - $160

MSI radeon 9800pro - $200

Thats a decent gaming system when u oc it and its only $540

case+cooling :P

Also I am pretty sure he wont wanna OC.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, I was thinking PCI-E for later...plannin ahead...but I dunno...maybe just an A64, A gig of ram, a 9800pro 256bit, and a raidmax case? or a PCI-E card, dual channel ram, raidmax case and Prescott Processor. Or a Barton, 9800pro and a gig of ram

decisions decisions
