Coolzero101 Posted September 23, 2004 Posted September 23, 2004 I just built my friend a pc using my old P4 setup (3000+ 64bit now) and he bought a gainward fx 5700, we loaded up doom3 and it was absolutly horrible. Maybe 20 Fps, ran like crap. I had the card in the best performance state possible, then droped in my 9600 Pro and doom ran excelent. OweO2004 Posted September 23, 2004 Posted September 23, 2004 doom 3 is extremely taxing on a system. especially the graphics card. did you make sure that you forced aa and af off in the nvidia control panel as doom 3 applies 8x af with medium or high detail applied. also what drivers are you using, the 5700 is an alrite card not the fastest but it should be able to play doom 3 better than a 9600 due to the fact that nvidias are better at running opengl than ati cards.
