Nemo Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 Are you using the DHCP function of the router or are you manually asigning IPs? What subnet mask are you using? Guess we're going to need a lot more detailed information on your setup in order to help.

_Intense_ Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 Did you run the "set up network" wizard on all 3 computers? Make sure they are all under the same workgroup (MSHOME).
henbenley Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 From my experience if they are all connected wirelessly then there is no hope for you, I've tried and I havent gotten it to work yet.

Flagg7771234 Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 They all should talk ok.... First (you might have posted this already) if any are XP home you will have some problems... but xp pro there is no problem. Makesure 1. all have PCs the same user account and passwords in the "users" area in computer manager... 2. the PCs have shares that allow thoes users access 3. each PC has a unique IP... like your router is 192.168.1.1, pc#1 192.168.1.50, pc#2 192.168.1.51, pc#3 192.168.1.52. and you should beable to go to internet explorer and in the address field (on pc2) type in \\192.168.1.50 and see the shares... access denied or a login prompt means your password or account name does not match. Stay away from that network wizzard, that thing sucks! every time I run it seems like a have problems... One thing to remember, your master browser can take up to an hour to learn the names of the other computers, so just typing the name in could display a false "not found" so lead with the IP address.
