Heres the Soyo mobo Nforce 3 i was thinking about: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....-139-135&depa=0

And the MSI Via Chipset board: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....-130-434&depa=0

I was really thinking about getting an MSI to build for my friend. the thing is. It looks like soyo has caught up to things for the moment.

Heres a good review of the soyo board: http://www.3dxtreme.net/index.php?id=soyosy-ck8dp5

and now heres a review of the Soyo Board Vs the MSI Board. http://www.hothardware.com/hh_files/Mother...yo_ck8(3).shtml

The soyo beats the MSI in every catagory, but the thing i thought was weird is that i thought that Via makes the better performing chip set then Nforce when it comes to 64 bit processor, and the soyo is using an Nvidia chipset, witch is supposed to underperform.

The cost difference is MSI costs 3 more bux then the Soyo. So witch do you guys think i should buy? Iam leaning towards the Soyo, Soyo has been good to me in the past, on 2 different systems already. And i have 5 different friends that built Soyos that are still working after a years use. But on these forums i've seen some really good things about MSI(thats why iam considering about getting MSI for a change).

again it goes back to my issue with review sites. sure it's nice when you take it out of the box. but in 6 months is it still running?

case and point with soyo. quality control is humorous to them

I have only owned about 10 different boards in my life, three of them have been soyos. 33% of my boards have died in the first year, can you guess which ones?

Soyo is crap.

I realize you have aready ordered but, I just wanted to add my two cents :D . My SOYO is serving me very well and when contacted about my "no v-core adjustment" issue, soyo sent me several suggestions about bios updates and even recomendations on third party programs. I love my SOYO! Just my two cents

ya i love my 2 soyos i built too, i don't see everyones big deal about them... and i have 2 friends that are currently running soyo mobos for over a year now (never turning them off either)

But if everyone says their bad.. they must be.

I just didn't want to take a chance with building a computer for my friend on a company everyone seems to hate so dearly.

I might just end up using soyo again on my next computer(for my self), because if it does turn bad on me, it would be my fault for trusting soyo.
