Tkelly69 Posted June 23, 2020 Posted June 23, 2020 I purchased a ryzen 3700x. I have 450 elite motherboard. I cannot get past my bios nor update it past the current version needed for to support my cpu. Once in bios, I my drives are unrecognized. I cant boot from my ssd. If I put my 1700x back in, it posts and boots as it normally would. I go in to Windows no problem. Any suggestions?
Fight Game Posted June 23, 2020 Posted June 23, 2020 if you put the 1700 in can you update the bios?
ir_cow Posted June 23, 2020 Posted June 23, 2020 Hmm Gigabyte says the B450 Elite supports 3700 (3000 series) with F40 and above. If the 1700x works fine and you are sure you are on the newest BIOS. I would first update AMD AGESA drivers to the newest in Windows. Shut down, install the new CPU and clear the CMOS. Im sure both windows and the motherboard is confused with a new CPU. If you want to save your current BIOS settings, make sure to save it to a profile before clearing the CMOS.
