jdm_freek Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Ok so doesn't anyone else find it strange that there are no benchmarks with the 2700x vs 8700k paired with two gtx 1080ti's im sure when we finally get one it will the same massive delta we saw with the 1800x vs 7700k with the 1080ti sli with a single 1080ti at 4k the two are equal but in sli im sure we see the delta at 4k as we do when running at 1080p in gaming Amd is outclassed plain and simple. ir_cow Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 I don't have either CPU to test it. But by proxy you can guess fairly well. In most games the 8700K is faster than the 1700X / 2700X. Than once you start to get to to 4k gaming things start to get really close in frame rate and than even more when using SLI. All this is from stock CPU. Once you overclock both the GPU and CPU + Memory speeds than you actually need to the hardware to see the results.
Braegnok Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 (edited) +1,.. once you overclock the hardware, the 2700X chip would most likely be outmatched by the 8700Ks higher clock frequencies. At standard clocks for gaming, the victor would be Intel's 6-core i7-8700K. For productivity at standard clocks, it goes to AMD's new 8-core R7 2700X (yet can go back to Intel once overclocked, depending on the software). jdm_freek Posted June 10, 2018 Posted June 10, 2018 This is also my thought as well and I am very curious that with all this talk about at 4k they are equal because they are bottlenecked by the gpu , well remove it by running 2 gtx 1080 ti's and im better we will see the same massive delta at 4k like we see at 1080p +1,.. once you overclock the hardware, the 2700X chip would most likely be outmatched by the 8700Ks higher clock frequencies. Braegnok Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 If anyone has a 2700X running 1080 Ti SLI go ahead, let's see what that 8-core can do,.. actually it would be interesting to see anyone's score regardless of how many cores or cards your running. Artifice Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 (edited) I know that this post ioos old... But I've been looking into purchasing another 1080 and a 1440p or 4k monitor for high refresh. The score I'm going to post a pretty close to the 8700k. Here is the Fire strike Ultra scores https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/35044513? and the non 4k score is in the 18k's for my scoring.
