VicVic Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 (edited) I got the same result on my DX79SR board. I guess I got a solid desktop for school works now.I managed to run a set of g.skill 4x4g 2400mhz @2133mhz 10-12-12-30-1T, but it would not boot at 2400mhz. ir_cow Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Well if anyone ever asks, now we know first hand that Xeon really do not overclock more than 200-300mhz.
VicVic Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 I really have to admit that I bought it because you said it was a deal. Hahahaa.Althought not being able to run the BLCK at 1.25, but it's still solid enough that I eventually made then into a twin with my main rig. Thanks for the recommendation lol. ir_cow Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 It is a deal I bought it to either ditch my 3930k or turn it into a gaming computer. I had a spare X79 board I couldn't sell laying around. If it was $200, I don't think I would have jump on it just because I don't really need it. Still fun to play around with and I was curious how far i could overclock it.
