If someone wants to make an HTPC with the R9 Nano running a 4K TV, well, they can't utilize that TV at that resolution and 60Hz. Just because you don't agree with an idea doesn't mean everyone else doesn't, too. There are plenty of people buying a GTX 980 or an R9 290X and playing it at 1920x1080. Is it overkill? Sure, but that doesn't stop people from doing it. It's their money to spend however they want. Do people need 4K? No. Do people need 3D? No. Do people want these? Yes. Braegnok Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 The DP 1.2 would be fine for me and running multi 2560X1440 panels is what I would run with single card,.. but it would have been nice to see HDMI 2.0 port also,.. or DP 1.3 port to run CF with single 8k panel at 60Hz. capthowdy575 Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 even with a monitor the new fiji card wont display 4k at 60H which is kinda a let down since some people buy two high or more high end cards to max out settings and have a higher refresh rate. like me I'm still waiting for a 34 inch curved monitor with 1440 support with 144h refresh rate. Apparently the AMD chip will ship with DisplayPort 1.2a connections as well as HDMI 1.4a, the latter of which is limited to 30Hz when displaying content at 4K. I don't know about you but 30hz is just to slow for me anyway hell 60hz is to slow for some people. also its not my fault that amd went this way maybe it was to save money maybe they wanted the chip out sooner all I know is that the specs point to no 60hz at 4k so for me the new 390x fiji core is a no go. but for other people still gaming at 2k and below it should be perfect. As such the minute you throw gaming out the door the lack of this feature on the Fury is a none issue since your not gaming there is no real reason to push into a gaming enthusiast card. NVIDIA has HDMI 2.0 support with the GTX 900 series and TITAN X, so it's curious why AMD decided not to with the Fury cards. That's the GTX 960, 970, 980, 980 Ti, and TITAN X.
