Waco Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Looks damn fast! I have trouble justifying the more expensive Sandforce drives though...they all seem about the same.
Prunes Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 To be honest, I find choosing an SSD the hardest choice in hardware. Often it's easy to see which GPU or CPU that's better than the others, since it's the best in almost all the tests. With SSDs the results are almost all over the place. I've been meaning to get a Corsair GT 120GB, however, after seeing this review I have no idea which ones is the best for around that price. Can any of the more educated on OCC provide some guidance? d6bmg Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Its fast! Its very good except the price. A 128GB SSD @110 is costly compared to some other options.
DeAdLy_MaNgO Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Definitely some fast drives I'm going to be picking up a couple of he 256's in the near future. I did want to mention though, that these drives have RAISE disabled, so you may want to consider other drives if the data you're putting on these drives is information that you value. freddie Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 what is raise? i've heard of trim but not of raise. ssd noob here
d6bmg Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 ^^ RAISE: Redundant Array of Independent Silicon Elements (or for over provisioning). It is error correcting layer. In this drive RAISE is disabled to gain extra 8GB.
