Guest Black gold saw. Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 I plan to have my rig in my signature for a while now (i'm wanting to use this pc all through out it's life cycle and usefulness) With my overclocks of: CPU: 4.6GHZ 1.325V LLC Level 1 38C idle and 67C prime95 and 45-47C gaming GPU: 1150MHZ/1525MHZ 1.2V 34C idle and 66C load. How long will they last before they degrade? Will my system not last as long to a noticeable degree? My clocks ARE stable..
t0asty Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 None of those temps are high? It will last longer than you keep it I would imagine.

Speedway Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Temps are the main aspect I look at when OCing and using additional voltage. My motto is as long as the temps are in check, OC away Degradation is mainly caused from high temps, so I'm with t0asty, your CPU and GPU will prob last longer than you keep them
Rofltroll Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 This requires further investigation. I am pretty sure high voltage can also account to chip aging and not just temps, though temps are the main aspect that degrade chips.
Waco Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Those volts are quite low. I imagine it'll last a lot longer than you need it to.

Il_napoletano Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 No matter what he's got those are safe...no? unless he's got a P4 prescott and a few other exceptions...yes
