sack_patrol Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 AMD used to have a display driver only option when downloading their video card drivers. Mine's a few moths old and now that I decided to update it seems like they've stopped offering that sort of driver update and only have the whole catalyst page. I personally don't like using CCC so I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about this. Have they really stopped releasing display driver only or can I just not find it. Bosco Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 When you go to install, choose Custom and decided what you want to install.
sack_patrol Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 When you go to install, choose Custom and decided what you want to install. i noticed that but the descriptions provided for most of the stuff aren't that detailed. I'd probably just uncheck all except the driver but non of them look like they are CCC. Is it possible that it gets installed no matter what and isn't included in the component selection? Bosco Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 I think the first one is the CCC if I remember correctly.
d6bmg Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Yes, the first one is CCC.
sack_patrol Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 you mean the first first or the APP SDK Runtime? The top one is grayed out so I can't uncheck it.
bp9801 Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Uncheck the AMD VISION Engine Control Center. That one should be the renamed CCC.
d6bmg Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 ^ Really? Then my previous post was wrong.
90sgamer Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 ^ Really? Then my previous post was wrong. On a computer that has both an AMD CPU & GPU the driver control panel is called the AMD VISION Engine Control Center. If you have an Intel CPU & AMD GPU, its called the Catalyst Control Center. I'm not sure what it says when you do a custom component install though.
