Add all your other fittings op drive and stuff (minus HDDs) and you have your $4k build budget maxed out with a fully water cooled 2011 mobo, 3930k and GTX590. Along with 64GB of RAM and RAID 0 SSDs for 1GB/s speeds and 240GB of storage.

thanks for putting in the effort for this :P

i think i'll stick with fan-cooling for now due to the lack of WC experience, but it is considerable in the future ~

considering what Shurman292 said, i am still uncertain whether to get the 580 or the 590

but judging from a discussion from

http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/Forums/ShowMessage.asp?Forum=4&MessageID=782796

i'd like to see if anyone has further clarification on this.

'GTX 590 Preview - 94x; render 26x

GTX 580 Preview - 75x; render 31x

GTX 580 Preview - 68x; render 30x'

also, should i be getting two 2TB 7200rpm HDD and put them in raid 0 for storage?

does having more than two HDD for storage slow things down ?

so far, this is will likely end up being the build i'm going for,

unless there is a change in income circumstances in the near future, then i will look be looking at a Dual 2011 build.

Like I've said before, RAID 0 would boost your HDD speed theoretically by two-folds. It wouldn't slow things down, even if you don't RAID 0 them. But it would be Fatal should any of your RAID 0 drives fail. I'm with Shurman on this, I'd rather have a normal speed HDD rather than gambling with HDD failures. It's yours to decide but if it were me, personally, I'd run them parallel or setup RAID 1 instead.

dont raid 0 your storage hdds, leave them as sepertate disks or raid 1 if you want data backup

multiple hdds wont slow stuff down nowdays, especially with a high end x79 board
