Great job in putting together those parts  It's a very solid built, that much I'm sure off.

However, I think you can lower the budget you'd need to spend:

Get a 1600MHz memory instead of a 1866. 1600 is enough for a gaming rig and it comes at a substantially lower price. Also, to make sure compatibility, ensure that the DIMMs are running at <1.5v (I'd recommend getting the G.Skill RipjawsX/Sniper or Corsair Vengace Series.)

Look for the Corsair AX650w and compare the prices with the Seasonic X660. The Corsair AX series are basically the Seasonic X series (except for the 1000w) and I've found that in certain areas (like the US), the Corsair ones can actually be cheaper then Seasonic ones. Or, if you don't need a 80+ gold efficiency, get the Corsair TX650V2 which is 80+ bronze certified.

You won't need an extra thermal paste for this. The thermal paste included in the Hyper212 is of the same brand I believe and it will do it's job very well.

Switch your mobo out for an Asrock Extreme 3 Gen 3

Then as Vander said, go from 1866 memory down to 1600mhz memory.

Don't even bother getting a heat sink. The stock one is fine if you aren't going to overclock.

Don't buy any special thermal paste.

Then take all that money you will have saved and get a 23-24 inch monitor with 1920x1080p resolution. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236059 This one is good at a very good price.

Any money left over in your budget should go to a SSD. Tiger Direct has a sale right now for a 60GB Agility 3 SSD for 61 dollars after rebate.

Lastly, can you give us a budget for the PC including windows 7 and the monitor?

And btw, is a ViewSonic vx2253mh decent?

I'd take the ASUS monitor Tjj226_Angel shown. That ViewSonic you shown was decent alright but the ASUS monitor has a better spec.

Also, I recommend getting the WD Caviar Blue instead. I have a Caviar Black and although it's a good drive, it makes racketing noises that just stands out too much. The extra money can also go for an SSD.

Here's what I've come up:

CPU: i5 2500K - 229.99

Board: ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 - 121.99

RAM: Corsair Vengance LP White 8GB CL9 1.35v - 49.99

SSD: Corsair Force Series GT 120GB - 184.99 [154.99 after MIR]

HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB - 149.99

GPU: Gigabyte GV-R695OC-1GD - 249.99

Optical: Lite-On 24x DVD Burner iHAS224-06 OEM - 20.99

Case: CM Storm Enforcer - 89.99 [79.99 after MIR] (can't find CM Elite 431)

PSU: Corsair AX650W - 149.99

Cooler: CM Hyper212 Evo - 34.99

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit OEM - 99.99

Display: ASUS VH236H - 169.99 [149.99 after MIR]

Total: $1553 [$1493 after MIR] - Still within your price range

You can still get the Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3. MSI R6950 and Seasonic X660 that you've chosen if you prefer them instead of what I suggested.
