Sounds kinda like fighting the horde in L4D or Zombies in CoD. No, it doesn't seem like anything necessary to me so I don't get it. I'm not a big fan of DLC in general anyway. I think it's there for people that really enjoy the endless zombie wave arcade stuff, which I don't see being much fun in a game where ammo is very limited and you're expected to mostly use melee weapons.
