Onion Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 So it's time to get a new car. My dad and I are set on a 2012 Ford Mustang GT. We've looked around, and found out about the x-plan, which is for friends of people who work for Ford and can get you a nice discount. Does anyone here work for Ford, or know someone that does and is willing to help us out? Thanks in advance.

If I am not mistaken, Ford/GM et al usually have limits on how many new vehicles can be bought in a year with discount. You might be hard pushed to find someone willing for one, and then with appropriate allowance for another. Also, if you're not immediate family, staff could get in trouble. Might be different, but if you go in knowing the potential outcomes, you'll not be disappointed at least.
Waco Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Also, if you're not immediate family, staff could get in trouble. This. I'm pretty sure it's like the GM Family discount from back in the day - you needed to be related in some way to get it.
MercuryDoun Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 x-plan is different from A-plan. A-plan is immediate family only, its also a much better discount. AKA A-plan = Family Discount X-plan however is for anyone, you just gotta get someone who works or has worked for Ford to register you for it. In regards to that, I cant get you x-plan, i know a ton of people that technically could get it for you. But i doubt they'd be willing to go though the effort for someone they dont know. And they are only allowed to give out like 10 x-plans a year. Ill ask a few and see if they are willing, but i promise nothing! Onion Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Thanks potato. I already checked on there, the website said $27,081. I managed to get them down to $26,600 on the phone, not including the x-plan. I can probably get them a bit lower when I actually go to the stealership lol.
