GabrielT Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 (edited) So my girlfriends rig has an Athlon 2 640 and ASUS Mobo and so on, its linked in my sig. It started blue screening recently and has not been overclocked when it has happened. A week or so ago it started random blue screens. I don't have the blue screen code but it says System exception. It will not boot with all ram slots filled. The middle two ram slots seem to be the only working ones. Adding voltage is not working. Does anyone know where I should add voltage and how much? I think the motherboard is shot. All the ram passes memtest on my computer. I raised chipset voltage to 1.45, cpu to 1.45, ram voltage to 1.65, and I went through and took all the other ones off of auto. Could the problem also be with the CPU? On top of which now when using the internet or downloading it says security certificate not valid. HDD corruption? Locutus Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Security Certificate not valid or expired? Might be that you don't have the time/date set correctly...and if it's recurring it could be bad BIOS settings and/or a bad CMOS battery. My_Inner_Fred Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Thats most likely what your security issue is. I've run across it before.
l1o2l Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Try repairing scanning windows files. In CMD, type sfc /scannow And as to the non working ram slots, try removing the CMOS battery/resetting the BIOS to stock. Funny, how you add "This machine is so stable it hurts." GabrielT Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 Well I got it to run with ram in the 1 and 3 slot now. It is very weird. I did have the time and date wrong but that doesn't explain the hard locks and blue screens.
