MAX4U Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 i dont overclock and my stock i7 950 is on 80~85 tem at max load due to what ever reason as the stock cooler comes with a very bad lock up system.;-( so planning to purchase a noctua nhd14 at 4k+ but as am not planning to overclock its just waste of money.. so can some one suggest a economical cooler that can replace my stock cooler and performs well. PS: also have to run a GTX 570 on antec 750W so concerned about power limitations.
Owenisbad Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 Get a coolermaster hyper 212+ or a sunbeam core contac. Yeah the d14 is definitely a waste of money if you're not overclocking, your system should run fine on 750w though.

Boinker Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 Get the coolermaster hyper 212 plus. Its the best cooler on the market pound for pound and its performance beats some coolers that weigh in at twice the cost. And yes the psu should be OK for one 570 but not two. Hoopa Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 May I also add the suggestions of Scythe Mugen 3 and Zalman CNPS10X Quiet. I have the Zalman quiet on my stock clocked 2500k. While folding at 100% cpu, and with the fan on the lowest setting, my cpu sits at about 45c. It's virtually inaudible. The mugen 3 gets good reviews and is supposed to be one of the top performing coolers temp wise and it's about $45. Newegg lists it as "Scythe SCMG-3000." Boinker Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 You know that may not be a bad idea. We actually got a reveiw on our site for the cooler. Check it out and see if its going to suit your needs and wants. http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/cooler_master_n620/5.htm
