jdhatt Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 hey guys, im looking at these two blue LED fans to throw on the roof of a corsair 800D (its my planned case for my build) and was curious which one is better. i know the gelid costs more but is it worth the extra cost? apparently they have a different bearing thats supposed to be better. any opinions would be great. im looking at blue/red LED fans. thanks! Black64 Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 I know the R4 is a little loud. But moves more air. I would go with the cheaper one.
jdhatt Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 yea the R4's are about half the price, i just dunno if the GELIDs are worth it or not

aaron6581230 Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Gelids have no LEDs O.o. They're just UV reactive. You putting some cold cathodes in there?

My_Inner_Fred Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 I made the mistake by buying a gelid thinking it had a LED lol... now I feel like investing for a Cathode.

momosmokey Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 What about AeroCool Shark? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835129056 I have the 140mm version and it's really nice. Pushes a ton of air; albeit it's loud at 1500RPM. I was planning on getting 2x120mm White LED versions for my CM Hyper 212+. White and blue LED's would look super sweet! momosmokey Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 (edited) I wouldn't worry about the quality, my 140mm is TOP notch. From what I've read AeroCool is apparently a leader in computer fans, I wouldn't put it past them. I'd recommend them--they're a little more than the CM R4's, but about half-the-price of the Gelid Solution's. That's my 2 cents. Let me know what you decide.
