I have one core thats way colder than the others Edited January 21, 2011 by usaweapon777
El_Capitan Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Hmm... that doesn't seem right. Maybe I applied my TIM incorrectly?
usaweapon777 Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 well like you said the temps build up over time so after the hour run I'm sure its gonna be up a bit. lol so weird right now i got a 3 cores at 60-61 while runnin prime and the other one is at
usaweapon777 Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 well it seems stable. I'm happy enough with that speed for day to day use so im going to see if i cant shave off some volts.
Locutus Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Have you tried it with hyperthreading off?
RJR Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 These chips are fun, been playing with this one for about an hour or so, no Prime at the higher voltages though
El_Capitan Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Oddly enough, after I moved all the components to a different case with a different set of memory and a different water cooling set-up, the 4.6GHz voltages were no longer stable. I had to bump them up a bit. I heard that's the case with the Sandy Bridge CPU's, but I wonder if it's because of the Rev 2 motherboards? Anyways, updated my specs. I'm thinking 4.5GHz might be the best overclock to voltage ratio, I'll have to test it out some other time.
Rickytuk Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 I'm Not brave enough to really push it but I think I have one of those super 2600K's. I've got it at 4.5mhz 100% Prime95 stable on Vcore of 1.82 and thats only due to huge Vdroop underload. I downloaded a trial version of AIDA64 and one screen it show the multiplier range between 16 and 63!, I have attached a screenshot. I keep seeing CPU Voltages of over 1.35 for much lower OC's. I'm using Asus P8P67 Deluxe motherboard.
