For getting the best cooling with a smaller hsf is the V6GT a worthy substitute for the noctua D14?

Not even close.

 

If you want a decent, inexpensive, smallish tower cooler then CM hyper 212+.

More expensive and very good, Thermaltake Frio or consider a Corsair H50 or H70 water cooling.

Before Noctua came out with their current line, the TRUE was the best performing cooler you could get on just air.

 

It's also a lot smaller...about half the size of the D14.

The D14 is giant. I had to take the fan side panel out of my Stacker to get it to fit. If you weren't aware, the Stacker is a HUGE case.

So how does the true compare to the Frio. I want the best cooling i can without having to drop a ton on a huge case.
