StoneBridge Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 (edited) hi. i'm having a issue when i overclock my amd phenom 1055t, no matter what clock i use the fsb jumps up and down like crazy in games. when i stress test or the computer is idle its stable. im currently at 270fsb x14 @ 3792 mhz. ive overclockd from bios, and have disabled turbo boost and cool and quiet. the cpu freq. jumps between 500mhz up to 3.8 ghz. ram is kingston hyperx blu 1600mhz cl9 @ 1448mhz. mobo: asus m4a89td pro Edited November 23, 2010 by pils91 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

El_Capitan Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Your chipsets are getting hot, throttling your speeds. Feel them to see how hot they are. As long as they're kept cool (try putting a fan directly on them somehow), you won't have that happen. yeah my chipset(hw monitor says it is 30c) is kind of hot but i have a 25 cm fan blowing on it, but even at stock speeds the fsb is still jumping... and why is it stable when i run prime 95? El_Capitan Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Turn the computer off, let it cool down, then if you test again, you'll notice that the first few rounds of stressing the CPU everything will be fine. Once temps start getting up there for the chipsets, you'll see the FSB and Multiplier jump down and back up. It's a heat issue. It doesn't occur for the ASUS Crosshair IV Formula card because the stock chipset cooling on it is that much better. You either need a bigger fan or watercool your chipsets, or maybe even getting copper heatsinks for better heat dissipation. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

You're refering to my mobo after getting my 1055t to 4.1ghz yesterday aren't you ? Yeah it has to be chipset cooling . What are you NB and HTT Link Frequencies ?
