Noctua NH-D14

Hello Guys.

 

Im not sure if its fit to my setup, so therefore im asking you clever guys in here..

 

my setup is:

 

Case: Cooler Master HAF X

MB: ASROCK x58 Extreme3

CPU: i7 930

GPU: Gigabyte gtx 460 1gb

RAM: Corsair Dominator GT 2000 mhz

PSU: Cooler Master silent Pro 850W

 

i know that i properly wont be able to have the RAM-cooler and the CPU cooler at ones.

 

but is the Dominator GT RAM to tall to have a Noctua NH-D14 ?

If you're concerned, you could always replace the heatsinks on the RAM.

 

I hear that the little fins are mostly useless anyways.

yes, after looking at the memory compatibility page it looks as though you'll have to remove the fins. More info can be found here. Hope this helps.

I have tall RAM with a NH-D14 and just had to move one of the fan's 1cm or so.

I have G.Skill pi series, which is listed as incompatible due to it's height. I haven't found exact dimensions of each, but eyeballing it they appear to be comparable height -- only exception is the heat spreaders don't (easily?) come off of mine. It really was easy to bump the fan up, although the efficiency of the cooling may decline slightly since the east fan won't be covering the entire surface area of the heatsink.
