Exile Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 (edited) Slightly Give more info CPU, Cooler and voltage. I have a pic Gskill 6gb DDR3 asus prem mobo i7 930 windows 64 A70 heatsink overclocked to 4.0 GHZ. using this guide. http://www.overclock.net/intel-motherboards/662236-asus-p6x58d-premium-e-thread-4.html#post8397751 So far, all my stress tests say I am good to go. But I just wanted to ask the pros first. I have been playing fallout 3, but no program I run will get the temps as high as a stress test. Flibo Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 That's nothing to be worried about. 73c at IntelBurnTest is completely normal.

ccokeman Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 Again Nope! The stock cooler from Intel delivers temperatures that high or higher at stock CPU speeds.
Exile Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 Again Nope! The stock cooler from Intel delivers temperatures that high or higher at stock CPU speeds. Do you guys think I should/can push for 4.2GHZ?
airman Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 Again Nope! The stock cooler from Intel delivers temperatures that high or higher at stock CPU speeds. Exactly. My 920 will hit 77c load at stock speeds with the stock cooler. Overclock it to 3.44 and I hit over 90c. As far as overclocking it more, as long as it's stable and you're comfortable with the temperatures, 4.2ghz should be attainable.
