3DCGdesign Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 thanks wevsspot, I'm on Vista 64bit... perhaps it is as you say... and perhaps related to the "64bit" part of the OS?
wevsspot Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Yes, it's definitely related to the 64-bit versions of Vista and Win 7 64-bit. I can put the 32-bit versions of either of those on the same hardware and sleep works just fine. In fact - I was so frustrated with the sleep function not working after I put Windows 7 64-bit on my laptop I spent the better part of a week arguing with tech support at MSI. Their final answer was that the hardware in my laptop was never designed to run a 64-bit OS. Hawgwash - everything works on my travel laptop with Win 7 64 except the sleep function (and one that I would appreciate working the most). dr_bowtie Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 I find the Sleep function hit or miss with any board.... for me... the Asus P5E-VM doesnt like it...does weird things...fans stay 100% coming out of sleep and thats too much for me... the Abit x38 has no issues the wifes Biostar 7050-HDMI every once in a while wont wake up but not very often it does that... the HTPC TForce550 Sleeps fine...not one issue at all... the Asus Socket 939 HATES it too and the Server...well I just disabled it because I need it 24/7...No Sleep for you (nazi) all rigs are Win7 x64 I have yet to try x32 and I prolly wont...
