ccokeman Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Ati are killing Nvidia. Technically yes! But....... more so is that they are positioning a product at every price point. As you can see they have everything from $50 up to $800 covered with the exception of the $170-$250 price point. Hence the 5830! Too early to tell considering NVIDIA hasn't showed up to the party yet LOL

actionstan Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 ooo i cant wait to see how this bad boy preforms i want something besides my 4870(s).. i want some dx11 lovin but i cant see the point in getting 1 or 2 5770s cause it wouldnt be any preformance gain over my 4870s.. short of having dx 11 this 5830 may be right up my ally.... still think ill wait til nvidia decides to step into the ring.. get better prices because ati will probly lower them then hmm... Waco Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 and a huge power [comsumption] gap , higher power consumption (than the 5850) displeases this one It's because they are salvaged dies (most of the time). They most likely run at higher voltage than the 5850s to make up for the weaker cores.
