dling Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 (edited) I would to have idea of what kind of temps you guys are getting that have similar systems as mine. cpu: i7 , core voltage: 1.468 , idle temps: 46-50 deg C. , load above 80 deg C , X58 series motherboard . I just would to find out where I stand compaired others to see if I need to make any changes. Thanks to any of you that post Edit:I know i spelled temperatures wrong <_< Edited January 13, 2010 by dling

dling Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 I've just ordered this ram hopeing to be able to lower my voltages and keep my clock speeds. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820145224
Crazy_Nate Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Hm, if you're wanting to lower temperatures, why not invest in water cooling?
dling Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Hm, if you're wanting to lower temperatures, why not invest in water cooling? I have thought about that. How much do you think a good wc system would cost ? I can cancel my ram.
Crazy_Nate Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Have a look at these kits: http://www.petrastechshop.com/wacoki.html Obviously, you can also hand pick the components to optimize performance, however, these should give you and idea of what you need, how much they cost. I wouldn't think about that swiftech prebuilt, though
dling Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 I don't know very much about WC'ing systems, but I've read that pre-done systems are not very good.
Water_Hazard Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 my 3520 is watercooled on a loop by itself and at 1.5 volts idle is around 40c-41c and load is 70c-74c depending on room temp. My 3520 also runs a little hotter than my 920 did. Your temps aren't to far out of the ordinary but that is a good bit of voltage for air cooling.
