fariss Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 While installing upgrades (q9650 & 2 xfx 5770 crossfire) I find I can't get anything on monitor. It shows signal but it doesn't show anything, no BIOS etc. Fans are spinning are card. Tried w/ just 1 card too, same thing. Ideas? Savan Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 did you try both cards individually? one of them may be dead. I've been hearing stories of 5xxx series cards showing up DOA from retailers
scr4wl Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 Definitely try each card individually. Does your board have onboard video? Sometimes bad memory can cause this problem. You might want to try reseating the sticks.

Going to reseat the new processor since neither card worked.

fariss Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 you did clear the CMOS right...pull all power and battery and hit the jumper/button...? CMOS was cleared twice. Once after the upgrade & once after the problem arose.

scr4wl Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 If you try and boot without any memory does the MOBO beep? You're sure everything is connected? What PSU do you have, and do you have an extra you can test?
dr_bowtie Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 if nothing else put the old CPU back in and see what happens...does your board have the latest BIOS that supports the 9650? just a thought
