Bob16314 Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 You can cut some corners and skimp on other things if u want to, but don't skimp on a CPU cooler if yer gonna OC, go with top shelf stuff the first time around..Take some time to lap the heatsink of whatever u buy, you'll be glad u did..Get some good thermal compound, not just whatever stuff they give u in the box (unless it's good stuff), and get a couple decent fans and mount them in a push/pull configuration..If yer not gonna get too extreme on yer OC, see how the stock HSF works for ya first, or buy something a bit less expensive than the ones I linked to. http://www.frozencpu.com/products/8335/cpu...?tl=g48c369s757 http://www.frozencpu.com/products/8807/cpu...?tl=g48c369s757
eden999 Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 you could go with the thermalright ultra 120 Extreme 1366 Rev C cooler. it's a pretty good cooler found for ~$
Ant1 Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 I am a noob and I am still trying to figure out how to properly OC my computer. A good source I found for coolers is www.frostytech.com. It has a lot of good, comprehensive reviews on coolers. I heard the Xigmatek Dark Knight, Prolimatech Megahalems, and Noctua are all very good cpu coolers. I have a Cooler Master Hyper 212+ and it seems to be working great. (I didn't want to spend more than $30 at this point).

But looking at others on this site 4Ghz should be well with in the realms of Air cooling. Of corse its dependent on your case ventilation and abeant air temperature. Good luck and of corse dont forget to post us some pictures
