Last I checked, Linux was a fairly secure OS.

Sit me down in front of nearly any Linux machine and I'll have root in less than 5 minutes. :P

 

 

The nature of the beast makes it insecure sometimes...little holes that might not get found in Windows boxes are exposed since you can download the entire source tree for the kernel (and most programs as well).

The supplied disk imager errors out on my PC so I've been trying other programs to figure out how to do it.

I was getting that on my main PC for some reason too, I switched to another and it worked fine. Not sure what's causing the error

Just wondering, has anyone here tried Moblin yet?

 

I'm downloading it at the moment and will be installing it on my Eee 1000H.

will it work with xp? cuz i ditched hardy heron and reverted back a couple months ago

Yea, but I'm too lazy to restart :P

 

I just tried it in VMware and I got as far as installing it but it doesn't get past "Moblin" when booting. Oh well, looks like LiveCD it is.
