That's the problem. If my service goes out or theirs does...no LAN play is possible. That's not LAN play, that's internet play. That's the problem. If my service goes out or theirs does...no LAN play is possible. That's not LAN play, that's internet play. Blizzard hosts 10 million plus people on WoW servers. As the article stated, Blizzard won't actually be hosting games on B.Net, so it'll take significantly less servers and resources to run B.Net, so the odds of it going down is slim. If your ISP goes down, well that's another story. You may not like it, but I find it hard to believe that you don't understand why Blizzard would want their game(s) to be authenticated. Of course I understand. What I don't understand is why they think it'll do anything except piss off legitimate users and cause them problems.
