ekohone Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Well , my specs are in my sig. I guess what i am wondering is, my system just blows out hot air like none other. I game @ about 45*c with my rig, idle anywhere from 21-37ish depending on the ambient temp. Do note i live in kansas where it is about 103 today. My room is always burning up hot even when i have the AC on full blast. So i turned off my pc came back in the room 15 mins later and the room was ice cold just like every other room in the house. I will say i have a massive antec p180 case with 4 fans and the CPU fan which is a huge zalman cpu cooler. Would possibly a new case, maybe aluminum, with better or less fans help this issue? Does it hurt to turn my PC off when im not using it. I know some people say keep it running all the time is better. I have no clue. Any remedies for a pc that just creates heat like none other? Is this damaging to my system? The cpu temps are not too bad from what i've researched. Thanks all
r3d c0m3t Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Well, the simplest way to negate your problem is to shut down, or even better, put your PC into standby when you're not using it on a prolonged basis.
Savan Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 you may want to increase the airflow in your room. Just leaving the door of my room open drops the ambient temp by at least 10 degrees
ccokeman Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Nothing like a room heated up by a PC. My computer room stays around 76 to 80F when the computers are on.
MJCRO Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Same with my room, my will be at a good 80-85 F with my PC on and with a window open, but opening doors does help a lot, but I have AC so my room can go down to 58 F with it on.
crash Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Nothing short of decreasing your pc's power concumption will cool your room down. A PC that creates and expels 250w of heat is gonna expel 250 watts of heat no matter what kind of case or fans you have. Turning it off does not hurt it, may decrease the life of moving parts but will increase the life of solid state parts.
