Hello Overclockers!!

Im not stupid wth computers, but when it comes to overclocking, and voltage, this is where i get stupid, and confused. Thats why I came here, so you guys can help me with overclocking to the highest possible. First of all, this is what I have.

PSU: WIN 550UB

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6300

CPU Cooler: XIGMATEK HDT-S1283

Video Card: POWERCOLOR HD4850

Video Card Cooler: ZALMAN VF1000

RAM X4: Kingston 2GB DDR2 PC2-5300

Sound Card: Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium SB0880

and here are the screenshots from the CPU-Z.

What I want, is help to overclock my computer to the maximum.

Did you bump up the FSB and lower the multiplier or is it just showing that the multiplier is 7 because of the intel speedstep? If so, you'll first want to go into your BIOS and disable Intel speedstep. Second thing, that RAM is running at a pretty high frequency for PC5300. I don't know how that's stable right now.

Basically what you'll want to do is keep the multiplier at whatever the stock is (I think it's 10.5 for e6300), raise the FSB in small increments and lower your RAM multiplier so that it continues to run at the same frequency that its stock is (or lower if you have to). Just worry about your processor first and try to find it's max stable clock. Then go back and worry about the RAM.

Change your ram divider, try to run your ram as close to stock as possible. then raise your cpu speed without being limited by the ram. Once you get your cpu where you like it and its stable then you can try to overclock the ram, which i really dont suggest.

usually people buy much higher speed rated ram and clock the cpu up but try to keep the ram withen its rated operating speed. Example with ddr 800 you want to keep the ram speed running no more then 400mhz because with ddr it is double the actual speed.

there should be a fsb and ram divider which will let you raise the fsb without overclocking the ram! You dont want to overclock both at the same time, you will never know what is stopping you that way.

Make sure you have a Temp monitor running while checking overclocks

Get your ram within its rated speed. Then

A) Run Prime95 to check to see if your cpu is stable, if it isnt then add cpu volts (vcore) in small amounts .02 or whatever your board increases by.

B) increase the cpu speed and repeat A until your happy or your cpu is getting too hot

Go slow from this point and when you find the cpu max overclock you can either get a higher rated ram or jf you overclock yours then make sure its stable by runnig prime95, if it fails you can loosen up ram timings a little to try to get a bit more out of your ram, but really its better just to get higher rated ram.

There is lots of info out there available, When you think you got a good overclock you can run prime for overnight to make sure its really stable, But some ppl just get it stable for whatever they use their computer for and dont care if it can prime for 18hrs or not.

You have to admit thats a pretty insane overclock for some pc5300 ram.

Yes I was pretty shocked!

Man, i just can imagine why it would blue screen when he pushes it any higher!

Hows memory is overclocked? I didn't touch any of the memory settings. Here are the screenshots from BIOS sorry if quality is not too good, taking pics from phone)

You need to read up a little more to understand what's going on.

Both CPUZ & your first BIOS picture are telling you that the memory is way over it's rated speed.

You need to change the "System Memory Multiplier"" from "Auto" to a value that lets your RAM run at a lower frequency.

Whilst you are at it, lock your PCI-E value to 100MHz as well.

When you raise the fsb it is raise the ram speed. Change the ram speed or system memory multiplier. In your CPUZ screenshot didnt you notice your ram way over its specified 333 mhz, your ram is running at like 100mhz over stock. change your memory frequency.
