TheConqueror Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Are you by any chance running hybrid SLI/Crossfire? I heard it takes a good chunk of your RAM, not THAT much but maybe it somehow glitched?

Waco Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Sometimes something just isn't cleared from the memory/buffers. I'd put the blame on the buffers in the CPU/Northbridge/Southbridge versus the RAM. RAM will lose it's data as soon as you stop refreshing it constantly while some of the chips on the board stay powered all the time. It's entirely possible something can get stuck in them in an inconsistent state (IE: something got messed up) and a simple shutdown/reboot won't clear them. TheConqueror Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Try removing the CMOS battery and putting it back in perhaps?
tkrow21 Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Try removing the CMOS battery and putting it back in perhaps? Not hardware related. Anyway, at least we can see that Windows 7 has improved!
XxHellxRaizerxX Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 looks like Microsoft has fixed the issue (at least for me) with the Service Pack 2 Beta. I'm extracting a large file as we speak and I'm staying at 1.82GB.
