The only reason I voted yes is because when they go down think of how all the sudden tens of thousands of americans will be jobless. I don't think they should get a complete bailout but enough to keep them afloat.

Try close to 3,000,000 jobs potentially lost industry wide.

I voted yes for this reason. Our economy can't stand this kind of blow. We already lost 500,000 jobs in November.

I do agree though.....V-Dub W16 FTW !!!

Foreign cars are better. Every American car I've been in has rough rides, pointless stuff in it, and made of cheap crappy plastic. It's funny how a modded Japanese turbocharged V6 could outperform a stupid American gas guzzling 8.4L V10.

 I agree, re-branding is stupid and needs to be eliminated. However, your comments above are just as stupid (and ignorant). Are you *really* trying to compare a small turbo V6 (for some reason you threw "modded" in there...and as anyone knows when you throw modifications in the mix it just comes down to who can throw more money at the engine) to a big low RPM high torque V10? They aren't even the same class of engine and they don't go in the same type of vehicles at all.

If you want to argue "small Japanese" versus "big American" look at the MPG and HP/TQ you get from the LS7/LS3 versus any of the Japanese sports car engines. :D

Hell, even my POS Lumina from 1990 gets 32 MPG on the highway and that's with a very crappy 3.1L V6...

I am totally against the Gov bailing out ANY commercial company. I will be honest though nothing could be worse than them bailing out CITI after they send out mass pre-approved 35% interest Credit cards. For christ sakes why should my tax money go to a dirty credit card company? All these bail outs are our politicians handing our kids a HUGE bill they are paying to keep ultra rich in bad business. The only thing that would happen if AIG, CITI or any of these maga large companies with over inflated salaries on their budgets went out of business is a few small EFFICIENT companies would spring up and take their place! Its called the AMERICAN way. Welcome to socialism folks, no more little man only the man.

"Hell to the freaking no! Why should I have to pay for their mistakes"

I voted Yes. No matter how much it sucks that our tax money gets spent that way sometimes it is necessary.

Very few people whine when our governments send billions of dollars to other countries to help them out, as a matter of fact people usually critisize the gov for not helping. Why not help our neighbors out? Those people who are affected by the impending doom of the big three are also the same people who spend the money they earn at places that WE work.

If those people lose their jobs then we could very well lose ours as well. I work in the Alberta oilfields so I feel every freakin economic fluctuation in my pocketbook whether good or bad! It's incredible what's happening up here right now just because investors are WORRIED! I really hope our governments, (Can and US) provide the necessary funding to limit the grip of recession. And as for my tax money, I pay over 50,000 per year in income tax so yes I do feel the bite the gov takes from me for "helping out the people" and I still agree that a stimulus is warranted.

"And that's what really grinds my gears.....Over to you Lois"

Screw bailing out Wallstreet, and all the huge corporations how about a bail out for all the American people, especially the unemployed.

If the unemployed need help send them up here! I can hardly find people to work on my rig when it's busy up here and we pay them almost 70k per year! To START!

There were no restrictions listed on this poll. Secondly, I find that his post has a lot more thought put into it than all of the other U.S. posters who are obviously overqualified. Third, the Canadian and U.S. economic markets are closely linked; our opinions have every right to be regarded the same way as any other

 I think you took my comment a bit too seriously. Anyway, I don't see why you said "our tax money" when the poll clearly has nothing to do with your tax money.

I guess I should clarify a bit; I recently moved to Canada from the States, I resided in FL up until 5 months ago, Immigration Officials having denied our green card applications (and keeping the 5 grand application fees, I might add)

-Anyhoo, after paying taxes for 13 years, I just figured I was semi-qualified to post that

-Sorry for being so aggressive :P
