ARandomOWL Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Maybe this is in the wrong section, if so plz move. I have written a program in VB.Net to execute certain tasks before a Super Pi run to make things easier. What it does: copies a folder from one partition to another then back again (copy wazza) copies super Pi to a RAM drive (can be any drive but designed for RAM drive) closes explorer & userinit processes opens super pi sets its priority to real time allows u to run SPI cleans up files (deletes SPI from RAM drive & deletes wazza folder) Note: This program does not contain a RAM disk driver. U will have to find one urself. I like AR Soft RAM disk, it is simple & easy to use. I take no credit for this RAM disk program. Super Pi Helper 1.1 (.zip, 12.9KB) Wazza folder (.zip, 7.2MB) I've included a zip file that when unzipped contains many .txt file totalling ~800MB that can be used as the wazza folder. U could create ur own collection of files but I included this for ease of use. Requirements: XP (any ver.), Vista (Any ver.), .Net Framework 3.5 (Earlier versions may work) Note: This program is still in it's early stages. Comments, Suggestions & bug reports are welcome. ARandomOWL Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 I think the next stage will be to add options of what operations to perform. As with my F@H manager all suggestions, etc. will be taken into account. BTW, what ver. of .Net r u using? 3.5?

ARandomOWL Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Do I have to write tuts for everything when dealing with u Add/Remove Progs --> Look for Microsoft .Net Framework Whatever num it says after that is what ver. u have.

ARandomOWL Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 And my progs still work. Thats good. I programmed them with .Net 3.5 but I don't think I call anything from 3.5, only 2.

hardnrg Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Does this work for HyperPi (the multithreaded version of SuperPi)?
ARandomOWL Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 All the things will work except copying to RAM drive, opening the program & setting priority. Although I could add that functionality. Thanks for the idea.
