GaiusMaxwell Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 hey guys, Basically im getting tired of my N650SLI, i dont use the SLI and the overclocking capabilities are somewhat disappointing My budget for a new mobo is $150-200, i dont care about xfire or SLI (im also buying a gtx 260 core 216), basically my needs are a socket 775, compatible with DDR2 and to be an average/good overclocker is there a nice board in that price range or would i need to dish out more for the new p45/x48 chipsets? thanks, love
damian Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 A bit biased but i personally like the Biostar TPower I45 board. Great for overclocking (High FSB) crossfire if you want, it's their. A bit difficult when it comes to ram but nothing that should discourage you though. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813138118 The DFI LanParty Dark P45 "Plus" is also good (makes sure it's the plus) great clocker as well. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813136053 Another board would be the MSI P45 Platinum (has a lot of features, great for overclocking both dual and quad cores) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813130179 All in your price range. ccokeman Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 My vote goes to the MSI until I play with the Biostar.
