IIxNullxII Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 I'm not on a Vista box right now, but I believe it's in the User Account settings area, on the left hand side you should see User Account Control.
Nerm Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 You could also turn off the warning in the Vista Security Center.
dling Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Are we talking about the same thing. The warning I'm reffering to is the one saying that my uac is off. It shows up where the speaker icon is(bottom right hand corner). I did not think there was away to disable it in windows. I may be wrong. Thanks. Comp Dude2 Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Windows key --> user accounts (and click on it) --> bottom of the list on the white bit (called "turn UAC on/off)

It is actually Security Center telling you that UAC is off. Go to Control Panel > Security Center > and turn off the UAC alert or if you are like me just turn off all Security Center alerts all together. I hate Windows Security Center. Thanks, I will give it a try when I get home. :thumbs-up: I also agree about the security center. It sucks.
LoArmistead Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Windows key --> user accounts (and click on it) --> bottom of the list on the white bit (called "turn UAC on/off) Ditto. That's the first thing I disable on all Vista PCs. It annoys the hell out of me.

You don't have a Firewall!" I didn't realize I need one when behind a hardware firewall.
