RHKCommander959 Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 why not keep the card, ram, and get a mobo/cpu combo:confused: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813138106 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819103197 plus that videocard and ram would definitely be good nuff for flight sim's and cost about 100$ or ocugh up a little more and get this cpu with it :http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819103774
jlqrb Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 Because I only have about 30 to 40 dollars over my trade to do this, in other words I am broke. I could wait a until my next paycheck but I would rather do it now so I don't go overboard when I do have money.
t_ski Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 I suggest you offer your stuff up for sale, then build him a rig with the oney from that.
ZOOMIE Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 ...and I thought I was the only one around here still running a slot A I did stop using it for flight sim though when I started with FS 2004. If he is using it with flight sim 2004 or newer (Gawd Forbid) you will have nothing but headaches. What I did was buy an 800 Thunderbird and stuff as much memory in it as I could - I think 384Mb. It made all the difference in the world - almost as fast as a socket A - surfing anyway, and it cost only about $20. Both are still for sale on the ebay and memory is really cheap right now. Sorry, I don't have a DVD ROM for you though -- Good Luck!

jlqrb Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 Thanks for the info guys. I was able to get some socket 754 stuff for the price of shipping. The only thing I need now is a black DVD drive. I am looking to spend 15 shipped or less as it doesn't have to be a DVD burner just needs to a DVD-ROM. I still might be looking to trade a 7600gt for a lesser PCI-e GPU and some DDR memory. If any one is interested in a trade like that let me know. Thanks
