Kandoo Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Hello, Why did you pick that particular abit board? This one is very good and has a strong BIOS. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813128059 yes that looks like a very nice board, but im gonna build a matx system this time around. I'm just tired of having this big box of a computer taking up all my desk space. and i dont need the extra slots, and then there is the cost of matx to look at. red930 Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Why do you need 4GB of memory? What did you say this system was for again, matx system? I don't think it should be a problem as long as you run the 64-BIT version of Vista for that large amount of memory. :-)
Kandoo Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 true, i may go with 2x1gb sticks, not gonna switch to 64 bit vista anytime soon, also im gonna pick a differant mobo. these abit boards are dieing at a very high rate. I just bought my ultra microfly case w/o psu for 60 bucks http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/ind...roducts_id=4596 Now to find a better board. red930 Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 I haven't used an Intel Biostar board, but given the quality of the AM2 I've used I'd very much consider looking to them first. Also, I wouldn't get 4 gigs.
radodrill Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 Yeah, unless you're going to be using a 64-bit OS I'd stick with 2Gb RAM

wevsspot Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 I would certainly look at the BIOSTAR and Gigabyte offerings before making a choice on motherboard.
