Hellssephiroth Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 ive pretty much always went with asus but im thinking of leaning towards one of the HIS or Saphire just because they have a higher rating? any suggestions? is one more reliable than the other? Guest Mad Cow Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 If they're both based on the reference design they will be exactly the same, but I have heard of HIS 3870s with bad or no memory contact to the cooler or being clocked so high that they're unstable, that was only the ICEQ versions though. EDIT: Crap, just noticed the X2 part, in that case they're the same AFAIK. Only the shorter ASUS one with the different cooler isn't based on the reference design. A bit off topic, but how's crossfire working with that mobo? Mine's not working right and I can't figure out why.
ebdoradz Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 i've only own 1 asus video card and it was my last. asus warranty suck, you cannot cahnge the coller without voiding your warranty ... i would go with HIS or sapphire. i have deal with both compagny and both have a great service
Guest Mad Cow Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Well AFAIK the only company that allows cooler swapping is EVGA, and they're nvidia only.
