wingspar Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 We rarely have power outages, but every time we do, I do some research on UPS units, and usually come up with a reason not to get one. Last time I did some research, I found out that these units need software installed on your machine. So, to me, it seemed like another resource hog on my computer that is running all the time in the background, as if I don’t have enough resource hogs running in the background already. Antivirus, firewall, spyware software and on and on. I always decide I don’t need another piece of software competing for memory. Anyone that uses UPS units ever question this? red930 Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 I religiously use UPS's. I currently have my main machine on a CyberPower 1500VA (900 watt) UPS. Saved my butt several times.
red930 Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 I have a couple of ACP UPS's but they're wired to AGM deep cycle batteries. Bill
