alright pep's,

here's what ive done so far.

first striped my case down i cut my fan holes, with my dremel. at the same time i was cutting, i let my rad's soke with some disstiled h2o/ vinger.

then i drilled mounting holes. and mounted fans and top 240mm rad.

ive got pitcures of my top panel with fan's, grills & 240mm mounted, but none with out as i was still waiting to borrow a digi-camera.

i havnt totally finished the fan holes yet, as u can see from the last link. i tryed to use the dremel, to sand the last rough bit left over after cutting. not a good idea, it pritty hard not to slip and scrap off paint instead, which u can also see in the last link:eek:  . its not to bad.

so im waiting till after newyear, as ive orderd some better fans for the top240mm rad. they also work with my fan speed controler.

so i'll be re-mounting when i fit newer fan & will also buy a decent file, to sort the rough edges at same time as re-fit.

these are the fans ive orderd

ive got a few already their great, well not a full tilt eneyway.

next i mounted storm cpu block & swiftech mcw-30 chipset block.

a copple of people ive seen hav had sum problems mounting the mcw-30 on boards with two hook mounting point, but ive been lucky. mines mounted sweet. i just used one of the two mounting pins that come with the mcw30, and also used the one that came with my infinity 975 north-sink. i can pick my board up by it naw, not really gentlly eather. heres some pitcures.

before eneyone says eneything, its the speir room im working in so mind the flowery bedspread & pink throw. . its got much more space and better light.;):D

here's wheir ive mounted my board in case, the rear 120mm fan/rad.

ive done a little more this evening, but i'll mount the pump , res then start primeing my loop tomoz.

also i hav to say a big thank you, to all the people who givin me help/advice, getting this far, i'll keep u posted.

cheers

Lookin Good!

The MCW-30 issues (or lack thereof in your case) are just luck of the draw.

Keep us posted W/ progress pics and most importantly the final build.

p.s. Those fan holes would have turned out better with a circle cutter attachment for the dremel. But a good airbrushed coat of paint should clean up those scratches nicely.

Using two bars for the same hooks.. why didn't I think of that? IT'S GENIUS!

**takes apart his ASUS, takes his MCW30 out of the box in the closet**

Wait, there's no tubing on it yet.

Tell me if the torque of the tubing pulls the block off the chipset, that was the case for me unfortunately.. I couldn't use it because the CPU tubing pushed the block off in the direction of the GPU. I was hoping that since I now have a GPU block, that the torques would even each other out.. but since this piece of garbage motherboard doesn't have a northbridge temp sensor(for an $80 DAGF, this is understandable.. for $220 board, not acceptable), I can't tell if the chip is burning or not until the board dies, so I've been reluctant to try it out. :(

thanks chaps. im nearly all sorted naw, up and running n e way.

ive done sum more pitcures & will post up in a bit.

also on the north block, i see what u all mean about the tubing pulling, but she still holds out well. the only probs ive had is through me knocking the tubes trying to plug in my mobo's power lead ect.

after i did that i could'nt boot up my pc at all. the power light on my case would'nt even light. i reckon the mcw30 was pressing on those little risesters that are around the central prosser's heat plate. because when pressed on the mcw30, it squared up a bit/ flattend it out, my pc then booted fine. also mounting on the two hooks only, dose'nt help as it can still tilt slightlly if nocked , like i did alot.

so im gonna re-mount / silver. also im gonna use the left over spunge from the little pads that u put on the corners of ure chipset, under the mcw30. and make a square round the edge of the chipset, like on the orignal northsink. that will stop it pressing on those risesters.

my temp on my cpu at the moment/ desktop ,fsb356 +87.5core, are like a full 14c lower on my air setup, core-temp lower:drool: . but my north is only 2-3c.

i think the higher than expected north temps are, dew to the tilting i spoke about above mucking up the silver paste.

so if im lucky re-doing it will sort that out, if not its still 2-3c better than before. the two clips are also still pressed down hard .

eneyway i'll keep u posted on that one, im sure i'll be able to sort it. i might do it on boxing-day, if i get time. then i'll start sum propper testing.

i'll also update my sig in a bit, pitures first though. im gettin on it naw, 10mins.

picture1211002xr2.jpg

then i mounted the pump, then i started on the tubing.

the swiftech smart coils work really well, they totally iron out kinks. i still need to buy another load though.

i mounted my res, around the other side of my case. it fits nice, ive bolted it to a optical drive bay mounting point. i also left plenty of slack in & out the res, so i can fill or drain outside the case. i was gonna mount it on the side panel next to were it is naw, but it didnt fit.

picture1211005tc2.jpg

here's it just after i finished filling the system. it only took 20mins. i filled the res up totally stright after, thinking it would go down a bit with the odd air pocket. but its still totally full naw.

that all before i started pluging stuff in. i havnt done eneymore pitcures yet. it was getting late so i'll sort them out in dew corse too.

i'll keep updating this thread, when ive got time. i'll also update my oc database entry & will post up some of my temps ect ect. i will prob leave doing the database entry, till after i sort the old northbrige.
