prosser13 Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 I believe that with the big version of the Typhoon, you've gotta change the mounting bracket which is a lot of hassle.

First, welcome to the "Street"! Second, please make a "SIG" as per the rules of the forum. This will save you from being banned for 5 days. Last, the only change that I would recommend is your choice of PSU's. I would suggest buying an OCZ GXS 600/700, instead of the PS 600 ADJSLI. Good luck! UncleDavid218 Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 You've clearly been helped; but I have a suggestion regarding your machine. You should probably consider (instead of 2 7900GTOs) an 8800GTX/S. Better, and IMO one powerful card is better than 2 lesser powerful ones. Plus there's the whole DX10 compatibility... Refozo Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 OK, thanks ill look into it already looked at it tonight after you suggested it, and it seems like it would even be cheaper and the lesser eVGA one is about 200 bucks cheaper and only 75 mhz slower with a tad bit lower interface as well but it doesnt look like its enough to see a difference, i dunno but thanks for tip
CapnKirk Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 I believe that with the big version of the Typhoon, you've gotta change the mounting bracket which is a lot of hassle. Heh, I've modded just about everything in one way or another. The fan I have on the Big T now is from a coolermaster heatsink. It's not a common size fan at 100mm, but it's a nice blue and has great fins for air flow with a max speed of 3200rpm. I was able to use the grill from the Big T in a strange way, but it's looks and flows air nice. Check it out. http://home.comcast.net/~speedracer3333/DSCF0678.JPG http://home.comcast.net/~speedracer3333/New_Image2.JPG
CapnKirk Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 This pic may help a bit, I used the t-bone bracket that came with the Big Typhoon and mounted it to the brackets from an AM2 heatsink from OCZ. http://home.comcast.net/~toezer/Big_T_.JPG The Tempest 92mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler which even with a tornado fan still ran only a bit below the stock one. You may just be able to order the bracket and screw set, anyway this is the sink. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowImage.as...oler+%2D+Retail And the 2 brackets I used from this set. http://images10.newegg.com/NeweggImage/pro...-202-001-05.jpg
