shifty22123 Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Hey, I'm sitting with a brick wall with my PC. I'm not sure what the problem is, so now I'm asking you guys!!! Well...I have my pc for a while now and started overclocking it, everything went according to plan until my pc started to become unstable!!! So...I read that a lot of people get that when they are overclocking, but mine starts being unstable when the fsb goes over 241!!! I think it may be my RAM or PSU. So...I would appreciate some advise from you guys!!! Thanks

MACarter02 Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Your first step should be to read the overclocking guide here in the forum. That provides the 'ideal' way for most people to overclock their rigs.

shifty22123 Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Hey....I figured it out to go over 241 but the only way to do that is to set my DRAM frequency lower... Will that effect my overall performance??? O yeah...I updated my bios to the newest 704-2bt from OCZTONY!
calvintang Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 hm, i dontthink it will affect much, skt939 is all about the cpu. You could try a lower divider?
Oc_Stone_AMD Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Yes lower mem divider depending on what u have my mem went to DDR600 From DDR400 Stabel in S&M But Not Prime95 but i have workd on pc's with mem that cant overclock so trying to highest cpu clock with testing mem dividers in memtest to make sure its what u want DDR400 iv had lots of time to mess around with dfi boards and im currently building a opteron 165 With NF4 Ultra-d and i just got 2.7Ghz with 2Gb OCZ High Performance DDR400 3-3-3-8 to DDR450 3-3-3-8 not much more but it shows on everest benchmarks :}
Kingfisher Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Your power supply is not a recommended one. Though you may be having a little success now perhaps consider upgrading that. Minimum requirement for your board is 480w.
