RivalNeighbour Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 In your bios maybe under PC Health Status you can adjust fan speeds. If you have your vantec tornado fan plugged into system fan header on your motherboard you can adjust that speed in your bios. My bios fan settings are http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n56/Riv...er/100_1006.jpg might be similar to your bios. *EDIT - Here is a quote "A 4-pin molex provides power to the unit, while a 3-pin connector interfaces with the motherboard for RPM monitoring." from here: http://www.modthebox.com/review82_1.shtml
Cuttlefish1212 Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 I bought a fan controller for my Tornadoes. That way you have tangible, immediate control over the RPM's.
bleach Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 hopw did u wire the molex to the fan controller. Did the controller come with the necessary adapters?
DuckieHo Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 hopw did u wire the molex to the fan controller. Did the controller come with the necessary adapters? Generally.... you plug a 4-pin Molex into the Fan Controller. You then plug all your fans directly into the Fan Controller as well. When buying a fan controller, make sure they accept your 3/4 pins or include an adapter. It varies from model to model.
Cuttlefish1212 Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 My particular controller was made by Vantec. It came with both Molex and 3-pin connectors. Each channel is rated at 18A so it worked out great.
